The message below and the attached pdf file talk about a new television show created for Scouts and Scouters. -----Original Message----- From: Office of Marketing/Communications [mailto:oomcd@netbsa.org] Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2008 12:46 PM Subject: Scouting for Adventure TV Show As we hope you saw at the National Leadership Training Conference, these are exciting times to be involved in the Boy Scouts of America. And that goes for our Scouts and Scouters as well. Boys' Life has been working with the Outdoor Channel to develop a primetime television show about Scouting. The first episode will air on Wednesday, August 13, at 6:30 p.m. Please share the attached flier with your council's Scouts and Scouters via e-mail, Web site, newsletter, Scout shop/trading post, reception area, etc. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Tonight we are training for SNFS at Waters Elementary; 3006 78th Street starting at 7:00 p.m. (If you can get there early to help set up around 6:15-6:30 that would be appreciated). We need as many committee members there as possible to assist and, of course, to help recruit on School Night. Hope to see you tonight. This is a few blocks north of 82nd (obviously) about halfway between University and Indiana Avenues, near the corner of 78th and Elgin. We do not yet know what room we will be in, so just look for OA and Scout uniforms. This is the first chapter meeting of the Scouting year. These meetings were a great success last Spring, so let's get the new Scouting year kicked off well with good attendance. Each unit should send its OA youth representative to the meeting, as well as adult OA unit advisor or Scoutmaster if one is not available. As you know, School Night for Scouting training will be held by the District beginning at 7:00 pm that evening, so hopefully our Chapter Chief Andrew C. will keep business short so that we can also attend the SNFS training. I know that upcoming Chapter activities and selecting a Chapter name are on the agenda; please come to the meeting for the rest. Finally, don't forget that OA Fall Fellowship is this weekend, Friday through Sunday Aug. 15-17 at the newly improved and increasingly beautiful Camp Post. Many, many activities, classes, election discussions, a LEC meeting and other events are on tap --and of course, all candidates who have been elected for membership in the OA should be sure to attend. Please feel free to contact the current Chapter Chief, Andrew C., Lodge Chief Zach M., or the Lodge Advisor Jim Norton or myself for further details, or just call the Council office at 806-747-2631 to find out more. Hope to see you tonight and/or this weekend!
